FAQ

Good questions.

When is the best time to aerate?+

Early fall is ideal for cool-season lawns; late spring for warm-season turf.

Do I need to water more after?+

Yes — daily light watering for the first two weeks helps seed germinate.

Should I aerate my Greenville, SC lawn every year?+

Yes. Upstate SC clay soils compact quickly, so annual core aeration is the single best thing you can do for root depth, drainage and long-term turf density.

What seed do you use for overseeding in the Upstate?+

For cool-season lawns we use elite turf-type tall fescue blends bred for heat and disease tolerance in the transition zone. Warm-season lawns are typically not overseeded — we recommend aeration only.

How long before I can mow after aeration and overseeding?+

Wait 2–3 weeks so new seedlings can root, then mow high (3.5–4 inches for fescue) with a sharp blade.
